Detailed design of a new berthing area to accommodate a new dredger for the service vessel quay in the Port of Beira, through the extension of the existent quay at the South-westerly direction. It was also an aim of the studies to perform the current structural characterization of the quay and of the slope protection supporting the landfill from the Captaincy building until the beginning of the service vessel quay, concerning also including their maintenance and conservation condition. The new quay structural solution consisted in a combined sheet pile wall of steel sheet piles with a capping beam and an anchor level connected to passive walls behind the main wall alignment.
