Marta is a dynamic Junior Engineer who, over the last 3 years, has participated in several organizations and various projects as a civil engineering ambassador (2020), learning assistant for Introduction to Civil and Environmental Engineering (2020-2021), Field/Office Engineering Intern (2021), Graduate Teaching Assistant, Graduate Fellow (2022-2023), and Junior Transportation Engineer (2024). Marta is currently pursuing her PhD in Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech.

Within the activities performed, the following skills stand out: assisting the department with various engineering recruiting events, preparing initial reports for future projects, examining and evaluating plan sheets for a variety of projects, conducting research to collect data for a study for the Federal Highway Administration, analyzing and organizing collected data, interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews, preparing lessons and grading college-level work, collaborating with existing contracts to determine better solutions, among other activities.
