Filipe is a Senior Executive with broad experience in leading many large design projects in Portugal and various other countries for over 25 years.

He joined EDGAR CARDOSO in 2008, where he became a Senior Partner and Director, and later the company CEO.

He coordinated some landmark design projects, such as the new bridge over the Douro River for Metro do Porto with 428m span, and many of the large bridges and viaducts in the new railway connection between Portugal and Spain – South Corridor, among several others.

Over the last 25 years, he participated as a designer, project manager, or team leader, in multiple engineering design projects, mainly in the field of structural engineering. This encompassed numerous projects of special relevance, dimension, or complexity, such as bridges, tunnels, special structures, ports, and buildings.

This experience has provided him with rich and diversified experiences and qualifications.

In parallel, his scientific activity has included participation in research projects, academic boards, and the publication of several papers in international conferences and journals.
